FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are you open on evenings/weekends?

We’re open on Saturday mornings during the month of May.   All of our hours are posted and updated on our Contact page.

Do you offer installation for the products you sell?

We’re a retail and wholesale supplier only and do not install products. If you need a product installed, we’d be happy to recommend a few contractors to you that can help with your project.

How big is a cubic yard?

There are 27 cubic feet in a cubic yard.

How many wheel barrows are in a cubic yard?

It depends on the size of your wheel barrow. If your wheel barrow is 3 cu. Ft. you will get 9 wheel barrows per yard.

How much soil or mulch do I need? How much does 1 cubic yard cover?

1 cubic yard will cover approximately 100 square feet at a depth of 3”.
To figure out how many cubic yards you can use these simple formulas (remember to keep all your measurement in feet)
A rectangle is: (length x width x depth) / 27
A circle is: (3.14 x radius squared x depth) / 27

What is the white chalky substance on top of my stone?

The walk chalky substance is called Efflorescence. Efflorescence are the salts that naturally occur in concrete products and are brought to the surface by water or moisture in the stone.  The process will stop on its own when all of the salts have been released from the concrete and can take a couple months to a few years.  This process is the reason that we, and all manufacturers of concrete products, do not recommend sealing for at least one year after installation. If it is still a concern, there are products on the market that will help clean away efflorescence.

How much material can I fit in the back of my pickup truck?

All products weigh different amounts per cubic yard or per skid.  We can give you an approximate weight of what the material will be but it is up to you to decide how much material you put in your vehicle at a time.  We reserve the right to refuse to load a vehicle that we deem unsafe to carry material.

Can I load mulch or soil into my van or car?

If you have a van or car we’ll gladly help you load any products packaged in Adams Easy Bags.  We do not allow anyone to shovel bulk material into their vehicles or into their own bins.

Do you deliver?

We work with the R.M. Adams Trucking company who delivers our product within Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas. Delivery options consist of bulk materials dropped off loose in your driveway, 1 cubic yard bags dropped off in your driveway, and our Adams Easy Bags delivered to your driveway or right to your backyard. Speak to us directly discuss the best options for your project.

How much room do you need for delivery?

We generally require 10ft of clearance (wide).  Take overhanging eaves, hydro wires and tree limbs above into consideration also. Please contact us if you have a specific question about clearance for different sized trucks.  If access is a problem consider ordering your soil or mulch in Adams Easy Bags which can be delivered by hand or cart to where you need them.

Can the dump truck leave the product on my front lawn?

As long as there are no hydro wires or trees and access is sufficient, we can leave your product on the front lawn. Dump trucks are heavy and may leave ruts in the lawn, the customer will take a risk as R.M. Adams Trucking is not responsible for damage done past the curb line.

Can I choose what time my delivery comes?

Timeframes for dump truck deliveries are within a two hour window. Flatbed deliveries are scheduled daily and we do our best to accommodate morning or afternoon delivery. We are unable to predict the traffic or weather conditions, and therefore cannot guarantee an exact delivery time. You do not need to be home for us to deliver your product, but you will need to let us know where to place the product by marking a spot ( chalk “x” on the driveway or a stake on the lawn). We’ll leave the receipt in the mailbox for your records.

How do you deliver two products at one time?

We have trucks that have two tailgates (one at the back and one in the middle). The driver will release the back tailgate to deliver the first product. The truck will then pull forward and release the middle tailgate to deliver the second product. We have two sizes of split-gate trucks. For inquiries about amounts and types of products that can be delivered at the same time, please contact us.
